Lewis Hamilton Faces Early Retirement Due to Engine Failure in Mexico GP Practice
Lewis Hamilton encountered an engine failure during the second practice session for the Formula 1 Mexico Grand Prix, resulting in an early retirement after just 28 minutes on track.
The incident occurred as Hamilton lost power on the start-finish straight, forcing him to stop at Turn 3 of the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. Prior to the failure, he had been performing competitively, ranking among the top five before finishing 11th on the final leaderboard.
Despite Hamilton's setback, his teammate Charles Leclerc had a strong showing, topping both practice sessions on Friday. Hamilton noted that he felt good in the car and expressed disappointment over the engine issue, which he believes has put him at a disadvantage. He also mentioned that he had limited track time due to an aero rake setup during the first practice session, which affected his overall preparation.
