Liam Delap Transfers to Nottingham Forest for Club-Record £50m
Nottingham Forest has completed the signing of striker Liam Delap from Chelsea in a club-record transfer deal valued at up to £50 million. Delap, who previously moved to Chelsea from Ipswich Town last summer, scored only three goals in 47 appearances during his time at Stamford Bridge.
The transfer fee is reported to be at least £45 million, with the potential to reach £50 million through add-ons, allowing Chelsea to profit by approximately £20 million from the sale. Delap has signed a five-year contract with Nottingham Forest, expressing enthusiasm about joining the club.
Delap's move comes after a challenging season at Chelsea, where he struggled to find form. Nottingham Forest aims to bolster its attacking options following the sale of Taiwo Awoniyi. The club is also exploring additional signings, including a right wing-back and a midfielder.
