Liam Lawson Prepares for Challenging F1 Return with Red Bull
Liam Lawson is stepping in for the injured Isack Hadjar at Red Bull for the upcoming Dutch Grand Prix. This last-minute substitution comes after Lawson's previous stint with the team ended abruptly after just two races in 2025.
Upon arriving in the UK, Lawson learned from team principal Alan Permane about the change in plans. He will be racing at Zandvoort, where he made his F1 debut in 2023. Lawson's teammate Arvid Lindblad was informed of the decision the following day, while Yuki Tsunoda was called to replace Lawson at Racing Bulls.
Lawson acknowledged the challenges ahead, noting that the RB22 is not the team's strongest car and that the sprint weekend format limits track time. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity and confidence gained from his experiences since his demotion. Lawson is aware of the difficulties he will face but is determined to make the most of this chance.
