
Liberty Secures Victory Over Storm for Sixth Win in Seven Games
The New York Liberty triumphed over the Seattle Storm 92-86 on Wednesday, continuing their strong performance with six wins in their last seven games.
The game mirrored New York's previous victory, as the Liberty established a significant lead early, going up 21-6 in the first quarter. Although the Storm managed to narrow the gap to four points by halftime and kept the game competitive, the Liberty maintained their advantage with a decisive 7-0 run in the third quarter.
Breanna Stewart led the Liberty with 28 points and eight rebounds, while Jonquel Jones recorded a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Sabrina Ionescu contributed significantly in the second half, scoring 13 of her 15 points after a slow start. Liberty coach Chris DeMarco noted the unique challenge of facing the same team in quick succession, likening it to a playoff series.
