Liebmann and Douglass Set New Swimming World Records

On Saturday, Johannes Liebmann from Germany and Kate Douglass from the United States set new swimming world records at events in Paris and California.

Liebmann, aged 19, achieved a remarkable feat by breaking the men's 1500m freestyle record at the European Aquatics Championships in Paris, finishing in 14 minutes 26.79 seconds, nearly four seconds faster than the previous record held by Bobby Finke.

Douglass, a two-time Olympic champion, reclaimed the women's 50m freestyle record during heats at the Pan Pacific Championships in California, clocking in at 23.49 seconds, surpassing the previous record set by Gretchen Walsh.
