Lille Considers Legal Action After Tiago Santos Suffers Serious Injury
French club Lille is evaluating the possibility of legal action after defender Tiago Santos sustained a significant knee injury from a tackle during a match against Le Havre on Saturday.
The 24-year-old player was stretchered off the field after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament and suffering a meniscal tear in his right knee. The incident occurred in the first half of Lille's 1-0 victory, where the tackle by Le Havre's Amir Richardson was ruled a foul, but no card was issued.
Lille has requested that the league's disciplinary panel review the tackle, arguing it warranted a red card due to its dangerous nature. The club has also contacted the French Football Federation regarding the officiating of the incident. Santos is expected to be sidelined for several months, while Le Havre expressed support for Santos but defended the referee's decision.
