Lions Coach Dan Campbell Expresses Confidence in Kicker Jake Bates

Lions kicker Jake Bates struggled in the preseason finale on Saturday, missing two of three extra point attempts. However, Lions head coach Dan Campbell has stated that he is not concerned about Bates' performance.

Bates did not attempt any field goals during the game and had also missed a field goal in the previous preseason match. Despite these setbacks, Campbell emphasized that Bates remains the only kicker on the roster and is not at risk of being cut, expressing full confidence in his abilities.

While Bates' performance in 2025 has not matched his success from 2024, when he was signed from the United Football League and became one of the NFL's top kickers, Campbell maintains that there is no reason for concern as the season approaches.
