Lions Coach Expects Kerby Joseph to Play This Season

The Detroit Lions are preparing to include Brian Branch in their lineup for the first time this season as they face the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Meanwhile, the team is awaiting the return of safety Kerby Joseph, who is currently on the physically unable to perform list due to knee issues.

Joseph's knee problems limited him to just six games last season. Head coach Dan Campbell expressed optimism about Joseph's potential return this season, stating that the team will approach his recovery on a day-by-day basis. Campbell noted that Joseph is progressing well but did not provide a specific timetable for his return.

Joseph was recognized as a first-team All-Pro during the 2024 season, contributing to an improved performance from the Lions' defense. While his return would not resolve all issues, he is seen as a valuable asset as the team aims for a postseason berth.
