Lions Place Damone Clark on Injured Reserve, Sign Gus Hartwig
The Detroit Lions announced on Tuesday that linebacker Damone Clark has been placed on injured reserve, sidelining him for the entire season due to an undisclosed injury sustained early in training camp.
Clark was initially brought in to provide depth behind Derrick Barnes and Malcolm Rodriguez, but his injury led the team to sign veteran Devin White. Additionally, the Lions signed center Gus Hartwig, who went undrafted in 2025 and previously spent his rookie season on injured reserve with a leg injury after signing with the Jets.
With center Cade Mays out due to a wrist injury and backup Michael Niese suffering a leg injury in a recent preseason game, the Lions are facing challenges in their lineup. Safety Thomas Harper may also miss the preseason finale against the Colts due to an ankle injury.
