Lions Waive Running Back Jabari Small and Center Seth McLaughlin
The Detroit Lions announced on Wednesday that they have waived running back Jabari Small and center Seth McLaughlin, resulting in two openings on their 53-man roster.
Small's release follows the placement of Isiah Pacheco on injured reserve, leaving the Lions with Jahmyr Gibbs, Jacob Saylors, and Sione Vaki as their remaining running backs. Small, who went undrafted in 2024, had previously signed with the Titans and spent time on Detroit's practice squad but has yet to play in a regular season game.
McLaughlin was positioned behind Juice Scruggs on the offensive line depth chart and had spent the previous season on the Bengals' practice squad. The Lions may consider enhancing their receiving corps with one of the newly available roster spots, as they currently have four players at that position.
