Lisandro Martinez Criticizes Manchester United's Leadership After Champions League Loss

Following Manchester United's 2-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, defender Lisandro Martinez has openly criticized the club's hierarchy. His comments have sparked controversy, particularly from former captain Wayne Rooney, who labeled them as disrespectful to teammates.

In a post-match interview, Martinez expressed frustration over the club's recruitment strategy and the lack of investment in the squad, suggesting that more should have been done after the team returned to the Champions League. He highlighted the need for a stronger squad to compete effectively, especially against teams like Atletico Madrid.

The defeat marked United's fifth consecutive match without a win, leaving them in 13th place in the Premier League. Rooney and former player Ashley Young have both questioned the timing and appropriateness of Martinez's remarks, emphasizing that such concerns should be addressed internally rather than through the media.
