LIV Golf Season-Ending Team Championship Likely Cancelled

LIV Golf players have been alerted that the Team Championship, scheduled for later this month, is likely to be cancelled. This information comes as tickets for the event in Michigan are no longer available for purchase on LIV's official website.

Reports indicate that the tournament in Indiana next week may serve as the final event of the 2026 season. Although LIV Golf has not made an official statement regarding the cancellation, speculation about Jon Rahm's future with the league has arisen. In July, Martin Kaymer suggested the cancellation was probable, while Cameron Smith had expressed hope that the event would proceed.

Recently, LIV Golf announced it secured a new lead investor to support operations through 2027, following the withdrawal of financial backing from the Saudi Public Investment Fund. The competition is set to reduce its events to 10 next season, with five in the U.S. and five internationally. LIV Golf's chief executive noted that players would become majority equity holders in the league, marking a significant shift in its structure.
