LIV Golf Secures New Investor, Ensuring Future Beyond 2027
The future of LIV Golf has been secured following the announcement of a new lead investor, as confirmed by CEO Scott O’Neil. This development comes after the Saudi Public Investment Fund withdrew its funding after four years of investment.
O’Neil revealed that the agreement with the new investor has been signed and approved by the board, ensuring the league's continuation into 2027 and beyond. While specific financial details and the investor's identity remain undisclosed, O’Neil expressed optimism about the league's prospects through 2030.
As part of the new strategy, LIV Golf plans to organize ten events annually, split between five in the U.S. and five internationally, with locations including Australia, South Africa, England, Hong Kong, and Mexico. Players will also become major equity holders under this new investment plan, regaining their name, image, and likeness rights and the ability to participate in other tours if eligible.
