Liverpool Hosts Villarreal in Champions League Clash

Liverpool is set to host Villarreal at Anfield in a Champions League match, aiming to secure their position in the top eight of the tournament. The game will kick off at 8pm BST on Tuesday, October 20.

Both teams have had contrasting recent performances. Liverpool, after a 3-0 loss to Manchester City, has bounced back with a 6-3 victory against LASK and a 2-1 win over Brentford, placing them fifth in the league standings. Villarreal, on the other hand, struggled initially under coach Inigo Perez, failing to win in their first six matches. However, they have since won four games, including a notable 3-1 win against Napoli, although they recently drew 0-0 with Elche.

This match will also feature a personal reunion between coaches Andoni Iraola and Inigo Perez, who have a long-standing friendship dating back to their time at Athletic Club.
