Liverpool Secures 2-0 Victory Over Como in Friendly Match

Liverpool achieved a 2-0 victory against Como in a friendly match held at Anfield, providing new head coach Andoni Iraola with his first non-competitive home win.

Cody Gakpo opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with a well-placed shot after receiving a cross from Jeremie Frimpong. Just before halftime, Gakpo assisted debutant Jeremy Jacquet, who scored from close range following a pass from Virgil van Dijk.

Despite Liverpool's lead, Como had opportunities, including a missed chance by Assane Diao and a late save by goalkeeper Alisson against Tasos Douvikas. Liverpool's competitive season is set to begin against Newcastle on August 23.
