Liverpool's Late Bid for Malo Gusto and Manchester United's Defensive Trials

Liverpool made a late effort to acquire Malo Gusto, a 23-year-old right-back from Chelsea, on loan, but the deal fell through as Chelsea preferred a permanent transfer.

In addition, Chelsea sought to sign Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott, 23, but the club was not willing to sell. Arsenal also turned down Chelsea's inquiry for Martin Zubimendi, a 27-year-old midfielder.

Meanwhile, Manchester United is planning to sign three defenders next summer, with several key players, including Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire, currently on trial. Additionally, 18-year-old striker Chido Obi is looking for a loan move to either the Netherlands or Denmark, with Feyenoord showing interest.
