Longtime Port Adelaide Volunteers Retire After 76 Years of Service

Alfie Trebilcock and Bob O'Malley are retiring from their volunteer roles at Port Adelaide Football Club after a total of 76 years of service. Trebilcock began his journey with the club in 1968, the same year as legendary player Russell Ebert.

This weekend, they will attend their final home game in Adelaide, with Trebilcock concluding 58 years dedicated to maintaining players' footwear. Over his tenure, he witnessed the club secure 11 SANFL premierships and one AFL premiership.

O'Malley, who has spent 18 years with the club, contributed to player hydration and training setups. Both volunteers have been recognized for their unwavering commitment, with Trebilcock receiving the Jack Titus Award in 2013 and being inducted into the club's Hall of Fame in 2025. Club chairman David Koch acknowledged their significant contributions to the team's success.
