Lorena Wiebes Secures Consecutive Wins at Tour de France Femmes
Dutch sprinter Lorena Wiebes won stage two of the Tour de France Femmes, marking her second consecutive victory in the event.
Wiebes, the previous year's green jersey winner, surged ahead of the pack with 250 meters remaining, winning by several bike lengths after a challenging 147.9km route from Aigle to Geneva, Switzerland.
She has now secured seven stage victories in the Tour de France Femmes, the most since the race's return to the World Tour calendar in 2022. Italy's Elisa Balsamo finished in second place, while veteran Marianne Vos from the Netherlands took third. The upcoming stage three will feature a steep climb near Geneva, which may pose a challenge for Wiebes.
