Los Angeles Kings to Retire Anze Kopitar's No. 11 Jersey and Unveil Statue

The Los Angeles Kings have announced the retirement of Anze Kopitar's jersey number 11 and the unveiling of a statue in his honor. This ceremony is scheduled for February 24, coinciding with a game against the Montreal Canadiens.

Kopitar, who retired at the end of the last season, spent his entire 20-year career with the Kings, playing 1,521 games and accumulating 1,316 points, which includes 452 goals and 864 assists. He served as the team's captain since 2016 and holds multiple franchise records, including all-time leader in assists, points, games played, seasons, and game-winning goals.

Throughout his career, Kopitar received several accolades, including two Selke Trophies and three Lady Byng Trophies. He was instrumental in the Kings' victories in the Stanley Cup in 2012 and 2014, contributing 27 goals and 62 assists in 107 playoff games.
