Louis Foster Secures Pole Position at Markham IndyCar Race

Louis Foster, a 23-year-old driver from Britain, claimed pole position for the inaugural Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham after a tense qualifying session. Following a near elimination in the Round of 12, where he advanced by just 0.0770 seconds, Foster turned his frustration into a remarkable performance on used tires.

Driving the #45 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Honda, Foster completed a lap in 1m13.2383s, finishing 0.3969 seconds ahead of Arrow McLaren’s Christian Lundgaard. This marks Foster's second career IndyCar pole, his first since Road America last season.

Foster expressed that his earlier misstep fueled his drive during the Fast Six session, allowing him to perform exceptionally well. He noted that he felt comfortable with the track and his car setup, which contributed to his strong showing. Looking ahead to race day, Foster acknowledged his tire advantage over Lundgaard and emphasized the importance of optimizing his team's performance to secure a victory.
