Lovlina Borgohain Wins Silver in CWG 2026 Boxing Final
Lovlina Borgohain represented India in the women's 75kg boxing final at the Commonwealth Games 2026 held in Glasgow, where she faced Australia's Emma-Sue Greentree. The match concluded with Borgohain losing by a score of 1-4 on points.
This event marked Borgohain's first medal at the Commonwealth Games and contributed to India's tally of seven medals in boxing for this edition. She was one of only two Indian boxers to achieve a silver medal, alongside Jadumani Singh.
During the bout, Borgohain entered the ring with her left knee heavily strapped, which impacted her mobility in the initial round, allowing Greentree to take the lead. Despite a brief stoppage in the second round due to a cut on Greentree, Borgohain managed to win that round. However, Greentree regained control in the final round, securing the gold medal.
