LSU Excludes Former NFL Players from Week 1 Roster Against Clemson

LSU submitted its roster for the upcoming Week 1 game against Clemson, which does not feature former NFL players Dae’Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris. This decision comes after a Louisiana judge ruled in favor of the players, suggesting they could return to college football.

Despite the ruling, LSU has not added Wright and Harris to the roster, meaning they will miss the game. The SEC had previously threatened penalties for any program using players who had signed pro contracts, but the judge's decision indicated the league lacked authority in this matter.

Clemson raised concerns about potential contract breaches related to the inclusion of Wright and Harris, although they confirmed their intention to proceed with the game. Both players, who previously played under LSU's head coach Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss, may still be added to the roster later in the season, as LSU has room for two more players.
