Lucas Digne Joins Paris Saint-Germain from Aston Villa
Paris Saint-Germain has officially signed Lucas Digne from Aston Villa after triggering the £8.5 million release clause in his contract.
The French defender has agreed to a three-year deal, marking his return to PSG more than ten years after his initial tenure at the club. Digne previously played for PSG from 2013 to 2016 before moving to Barcelona and later spending eight seasons in the Premier League with Everton and Aston Villa.
During his time at Aston Villa, Digne made 182 appearances, contributing four goals and 24 assists, and played a key role in the club's victory in last season's Europa League. His transfer follows the departures of other senior players from Villa this summer, including Morgan Rogers and Youri Tielemans. Digne is expected to compete for the left-back position in Luis Enrique's squad at PSG, who are looking to defend their Champions League title.
