Lucy Darragh and Rajo Saputra Triumph at Rip Curl Cup Padang Padang

Lucy Darragh from Australia and local surfer Rajo Saputra won the Rip Curl Cup at Padang Padang, which took place after a week of waiting for optimal conditions. The contest, known for its challenging waves, was held on a Thursday and featured excellent surf conditions.

Saputra excelled in his heats, scoring an 8.17 and 8.57 before achieving a perfect 10 in the final round, where he competed against Makana Pang, last year's champion Westen Hirst, and Tosh Tudor. His final scores included another perfect 10 and a backup score of 9.73, securing his victory.

Darragh also performed strongly, nearly scoring a perfect 10 in her first round with a 9.93. In the women's final, she faced Jasmine Studer, Ruby Berry, and Vaihitimahana Inso, ultimately winning with a high heat total that included a nine-point ride and an 8.17. The event's organizer noted the exceptional conditions and praised the performances of both winners.
