Luke Humphries, the top seed and world number two, was eliminated from the Hungarian Darts Trophy after losing 6-3 to Dirk van Duijvenbode in the second round.
The match took place in Budapest, where Humphries averaged 92.67. Van Duijvenbode, ranked 21st globally, secured his victory with a notable 140 checkout while leading 4-3.
In other matches, three-time world champion Michael van Gerwen overcame a 3-1 deficit to win 6-4 against James Hurrell.
