Mackenzie Dern Defeats Gillian Robertson to Retain Strawweight Title at UFC 330

Mackenzie Dern successfully defended her strawweight title at UFC 330, defeating Gillian Robertson by decision after five rounds of grappling on Saturday night at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia.

Throughout the match, Dern controlled Robertson on the ground, despite the challenger’s claims of grappling superiority leading up to the fight. Although Dern aimed for a submission victory, she acknowledged that fatigue and Robertson's defensive skills hindered her efforts.

In her post-fight remarks, Dern noted that while she had improved her wrestling and striking, she relied on her jiu-jitsu to secure the win. Despite being taken down several times, she credited her training for retaining the championship belt, while Robertson was unable to match Dern's grappling pressure on the scorecards.
