Mackenzie Dern Reflects on UFC 330 Performance
Mackenzie Dern recently assessed her performance during her title defense at UFC 330, where she faced Gillian Robertson in the co-main event. The fight, which took place this past Saturday, marked the first women’s title bout of the year.
Dern successfully defended her strawweight title by dominating Robertson over five rounds, ultimately winning by unanimous decision. However, the champion was critical of her own performance, expressing disappointment with her cardio, striking, and grappling skills.
Despite her victory, Dern felt she could have performed better, stating that she should have finished the fight. She also mentioned her relief at not facing Zhang Weili, suggesting that her performance would not have been sufficient against a fighter of Weili's caliber. Dern remains open to a future matchup with Weili, should the opportunity arise.
