Mackenzie Little Wins Javelin Gold at Commonwealth Games, Returns to Medical Career

Mackenzie Little, a 29-year-old doctor from Sydney, won the gold medal in the women's javelin at the Commonwealth Games with her first throw, achieving a season-best distance of 61.88 meters.

Despite her busy schedule as an ear, nose, and throat registrar at Northern Beaches Hospital, Little managed to secure her first major international title. She plans to return to work immediately after the competition.

On the same night, pole vaulter Kurtis Marschall also made headlines by winning his third consecutive Commonwealth Games gold, setting a Games record with a jump of 5.85 meters. Other notable performances included Brooke Buschkuehl, who earned a bronze in the long jump.
