Madison de Rozario Returns to Sydney Marathon After Emotional Journey

Madison de Rozario, a two-time winner of the Sydney Marathon, is set to compete this weekend in the city's marathon, which has recently gained World Major status. Originally from Perth, she has been training in Sydney under the guidance of coach Louise Sauvage.

De Rozario aims to conquer the 42-kilometre course from North Sydney to the Opera House, a route she describes as both familiar and challenging. She previously won the marathon in 2024, shortly after the Paris Paralympics, where she faced personal loss but also achieved success in her events.

This year, she is excited to race at home after missing the event last year. De Rozario will compete alongside Tatyana McFadden, a renowned wheelchair racer with numerous accolades. Both athletes are focused on showcasing their skills in this prestigious marathon.
