Makhachev Encourages Nurmagomedov to Join UFC
Islam Makhachev, the current UFC welterweight champion, has expressed his desire for Usman Nurmagomedov to transition from the PFL to the UFC. Nurmagomedov, who holds the PFL lightweight title, is set to become a free agent soon.
Makhachev believes that now is the right moment for Nurmagomedov to compete at a higher level, suggesting that he is prepared for the challenges of the UFC. He emphasized Nurmagomedov's impressive skills, including his speed, wrestling, and striking capabilities. If Nurmagomedov joins the UFC, he is expected to face a top-ranked lightweight fighter right away.
Makhachev is scheduled to defend his welterweight title against Ian Machado Garry at UFC 330 on August 15. He previously won the title by defeating Jack Della Maddalena and is on the verge of breaking Anderson Silva's record for the most consecutive wins in UFC history.
