Makhmud Muradov Wins Light Heavyweight Title in Oktagon MMA
Makhmud Muradov achieved a significant milestone by winning the light heavyweight title in Oktagon MMA after defeating Will Fleury in Prague on August 1. This victory marks a remarkable comeback for Muradov, who previously had a mixed record during his five years in the UFC.
After leaving the UFC with a record of 4-2 (1 NC), Muradov joined Oktagon MMA, where he quickly found success. He captured the interim middleweight title in June 2025 before challenging Fleury, who was the reigning heavyweight and light heavyweight champion. Despite facing adversity in the first round, Muradov turned the fight around in the second round, knocking out Fleury with a powerful overhand right.
This victory not only crowned Muradov as a two-division champion but also ended Fleury's impressive unbeaten streak. Fleury had recently defended his heavyweight title and had not lost since 2020.
