Malakai Black in Talks with Promotion After WWE Release

Malakai Black has engaged in discussions with a wrestling promotion after his release from WWE earlier this year.

According to Fightful Select, initial contact occurred a few weeks post-release between Black and Major League Wrestling, but the talks did not advance significantly. As Black is now a free agent, there has been no resumption of discussions between the two parties.

Regarding his future with AEW, Fightful has not reported any indications of a potential return. Black, who returned to WWE in 2025, was known for his rivalry with Damian Priest and had begun hinting at a partnership with Randy Orton before being released. Following his release, he has debuted a new look and is scheduled for three dates with PROGRESS Wrestling starting September 4.
