Mammoth Mountain Sets Opening Day for Ski Season
Mammoth Mountain has revealed that it plans to open for the ski season on November 13, 2026. This announcement comes after a challenging previous winter, where many resorts struggled due to insufficient snowfall.
Last season, Mammoth Mountain managed to close on June 7, benefiting from a late-season weather shift. Currently, no other ski resorts in California or North America have announced their opening dates. Typically, Colorado resorts are the first to open, with Keystone Resort leading the way for the 2025-2026 season.
While Mammoth aims to meet its opening date, past seasons have seen delays due to high snow lines during early storms. The impact of El Niño on snowfall patterns remains uncertain, as previous years have shown mixed results in early season snow accumulation.
