Man Confesses to Transporting Scottish Woman's Body in Greece

Greek authorities report that a man has confessed to moving the body of Elisabeth-Jane Ross, a 38-year-old Scottish woman, in a suitcase to an abandoned building in Athens. Ross was discovered on July 18, following her disappearance earlier that month.

The suspect, a 26-year-old man believed to be from Afghanistan, was arrested after an investigation involving US, UK, and Scottish authorities. He was taken to police headquarters where he admitted to his involvement. He faces allegations of manslaughter, robbery, and weapons offenses, although specific charges are still pending.

Ross had arrived in Greece on June 26 and was last known to be in the Piraeus area before traveling to Kypseli. Police are currently expediting toxicology tests to determine the cause of her death and are attempting to locate her acquaintances in the area. A replica pistol and a knife were found during a search of the suspect's residence.
