Man Rescued from Mud as Tidal Waters Rise in Sefton

A man was rescued from mud on the banks of the River Alt in Sefton, Merseyside, as rising tidal waters threatened to engulf him. The incident occurred near Blundellsands Sailing Club on Sunday.

Coastguards from HM Coastguard Crosby responded to the emergency, noting that the area is challenging to navigate, especially with the approaching tide. With assistance from the fire service, rescuers entered the mud and successfully freed the man.

After the rescue, paramedics assessed the individual, who fortunately did not require additional medical treatment.
