Manav Suthar Impresses with Bowling Skills in Test Debut
Manav Suthar, a 24-year-old left-arm orthodox spinner, has made a significant impact in his early Test career, starting with a match haul of seven for 62 against Afghanistan in June. He continued to shine by leading India to a 165-run victory over Sri Lanka in Galle, where he achieved remarkable figures of four for 76 in the first innings and six for 55 in the second.
Among those impressed by Suthar is former Indian spinner Maninder Singh, who noted the exceptional quality of Suthar's bowling. Maninder expressed his admiration, highlighting the impressive way the ball comes out of Suthar's hand and his classical spinning technique, which sets him apart in a modern era focused on speed.
Maninder, who debuted for India at 17 and played 35 Tests, praised Suthar's rhythmic run-up and effective follow-through, suggesting that he possesses all the essential qualities of a successful spinner. He also acknowledged Suthar's potential to represent India for many years to come.
