Manchester City Secures £125 Million Deal for Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea
Manchester City has reportedly reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Enzo Fernandez for £125 million, matching the British transfer record.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein indicated that the two clubs have settled on the fee, which equals the amount Liverpool paid for Alexander Isak last year. Fernandez has received clearance to travel to Manchester for a medical examination.
This transfer has been a key focus for City as they aim to enhance their midfield, reuniting Fernandez with former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca. Chelsea had set a deadline for City to submit a bid that met their valuation, but City maintained their interest despite initial setbacks. Fernandez's departure leaves Chelsea needing to address the gap in their squad, with potential targets including Lamine Camara from Monaco and Manu Kone from Roma.
