Manchester City Signs Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille for $117 Million

Manchester City has secured the signing of 18-year-old midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi from Lille for a total fee of $117 million, announced on Wednesday. This transfer is seen as a strategic move to find a long-term replacement for Rodri, who recently transferred to Barcelona.

Bouaddi, who has signed a five-year contract, is regarded as a promising talent following his performances, including a notable showing at the World Cup. The deal includes a base fee of 95 million euros plus 5 million euros in potential add-ons, making Bouaddi the most expensive player sold from the French league and the highest-priced teenage signing in Premier League history.

City's manager Enzo Maresca is overseeing a midfield overhaul, having also acquired England international Elliot Anderson for $155 million. Bouaddi's addition comes as the club navigates player departures, including Bernardo Silva and Nico Gonzalez, who recently joined Newcastle. Bouaddi is expected to make his debut against Crystal Palace on Friday.
