Manchester City Signs Geronimo Rulli from Marseille

Manchester City has reached an agreement to sign Argentine goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli from Marseille for a fee of £1.7 million. The 34-year-old goalkeeper is returning to the Etihad Stadium, where he previously spent the 2016-17 season without making a first-team appearance, and has signed a two-year contract.

Rulli gained recognition for his performance in the 2021 Europa League final, where he played a crucial role in Villarreal's victory over Manchester United by scoring a penalty and saving one from David de Gea. He has represented Argentina eight times and was part of the squad that won the 2022 World Cup and the 2024 Copa America.

He will serve as a backup to Gianluigi Donnarumma, following the departure of James Trafford to Leeds for up to £45 million earlier this week.
