Manchester City Still Interested in Enzo Fernandez Despite Missed Bid Deadline
Manchester City continues to pursue Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, despite having missed the bid deadline set by Chelsea last Friday at 5pm. Chelsea has placed a valuation of £120m on Fernandez, who faced negative reactions from some fans during a recent friendly against Real Sociedad.
City did not make an offer before the cut-off but is considering whether to attempt a signing before the transfer window closes on September 1. The terms for Fernandez to leave Stamford Bridge for the previously agreed amount have expired.
Fernandez, a World Cup finalist with Argentina, was suspended for two matches last season due to uncertainty about his future while on international duty. Meanwhile, City is also negotiating with Lille for midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi as they seek replacements for departing players Rodri and Tijjani Reijnders.
