Manchester City Suffers First Defeat of the Season Against Aston Villa

Manchester City experienced their first defeat of the Premier League season, losing 2-1 to Aston Villa at Villa Park.

The match saw Nicolas Jackson score twice for Villa, while Erling Haaland netted a header for City. This loss marked the end of City's perfect start under manager Enzo Maresca.

Maresca expressed that his team did not deserve to lose and highlighted areas for improvement, particularly in defense during transitions. He noted the importance of being clinical in front of goal and avoiding mistakes. City will next face Brighton in consecutive matches, starting with an EFL Cup game at the Etihad.
