Manchester United Acknowledges Errors in Ticket Touting Investigation
Manchester United has acknowledged errors in their ticket touting investigation, admitting they underestimated the extent to which fans shared account details prior to launching the inquiry.
The club initiated the investigation last month after identifying suspicious activity on several accounts, including one instance where 1,088 accounts were accessed from a single device. This led to concerns among genuine fans about potential confiscation of their season tickets.
Following a fans forum on July 30, the club accepted that their execution of the investigation caused distress among supporters. They clarified that season tickets would only be confiscated in cases of organized touting or misuse for financial gain. The investigation remains ongoing, and fans have been urged to respond within a 14-day deadline.
