Manish Pandey Named in Karnataka's Probables for Mushtaq Ali Trophy
Manish Pandey has been named among the probables for Karnataka's upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, marking his return to the team nearly two years after his last appearance.
The 37-year-old former captain was removed from the Karnataka squad in December 2024 and has played only nine matches for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL during the 2025 and 2026 seasons. The selection committee's chairman noted the need for experience in the batting lineup, citing Pandey's fitness and training as key factors for his inclusion.
Pandey's recent performance includes a notable catch in May against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, showcasing his fitness and fielding skills. He previously led Karnataka to consecutive Mushtaq Ali titles in 2018-19 and 2019-20. Karnataka's campaign is set to begin on November 14 against Bengal at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
