Manisha Bhanwala Makes History with World Title Win

Manisha Bhanwala achieved a historic milestone by winning the gold medal in the 59kg category at the World Wrestling Championships held in Astana, defeating USA's Abigail Elizabeth Nette 8-6 in the final.

The 29-year-old wrestler from Haryana is the second Indian, following Sushil Kumar, to secure a World title. She previously faced challenges at the Asian Games but demonstrated remarkable resilience by coming back from a 0-6 deficit in the final.

Manisha's victory, along with silver medals from Neelam Sirohi and Kajal Dhochak and a bronze from Tanu Sharma, contributed to India's best-ever performance in the women's section, finishing fourth overall.
