Maple Leafs Consider Trade for Nikita Kucherov After Canucks Victory

Following a 4-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks, the Toronto Maple Leafs are reportedly considering a trade for Nikita Kucherov, the Tampa Bay Lightning's all-time leading scorer. Kucherov's request for a trade stems from ongoing contract negotiation issues with Lightning GM Julien BriseBois.

Former teammates of Kucherov, including Darren Raddysh and Nick Paul, expressed surprise at the news, acknowledging Kucherov's talent and work ethic. Despite BriseBois stating he does not intend to trade Kucherov, the situation remains uncertain as the two sides are far apart on a contract extension.

Kucherov has a list of ten teams he can approve for a trade, and both the Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens are seen as potential landing spots. However, any trade would require a substantial package to convince BriseBois to part with a key player within the division.
