Other goals for Toronto came from William Nylander and Jack Roslovic. Anthony Stolarz made 21 saves for the Maple Leafs, who improved their record to 2-2-0.
For Nashville, Steven Stamkos scored twice, moving into 17th place on the NHL's all-time scoring list, while Nils Hoglander also netted two goals. Juuse Saros stopped 33 shots in goal. The Predators, now at 1-1-1, will face the Montreal Canadiens next, while the Maple Leafs are set to visit the Vegas Golden Knights.
