Marc Marquez Acknowledges Ducati's Struggles Against Aprilia in Indonesian GP
Marc Marquez has pointed out that Ducati is facing a significant challenge in matching Aprilia's performance during practice for the Indonesian Grand Prix at Mandalika. He believes that Ducati is at least half a second slower than their competitors.
During the opening day of track action, Aprilia's Raul Fernandez led a strong showing for the team, breaking the circuit record and finishing ahead of Marquez, who was fifth among Ducati riders. Marquez's best time left him 0.7 seconds behind Fernandez and 0.5 seconds behind Marco Bezzecchi of Aprilia.
Historically, Mandalika has posed difficulties for Ducati due to its layout and the specific tire characteristics. Marquez, who has yet to finish a race at this venue, acknowledged the gap to Aprilia and expressed the need for Ducati to maximize their performance. He also noted the importance of qualifying, recognizing it as a potential weak point for him on this track.
