Marc Marquez Claims Victory at San Marino GP, Takes Points Lead
Marc Marquez won the San Marino Grand Prix, taking advantage of an early crash by rival Marco Bezzecchi, which allowed him to secure the lead in the MotoGP standings.
Bezzecchi, who started from pole position, lost control on the opening lap at Turn 12, enabling Marquez to take the lead. He then faced challenges from Jorge Martin and Alex Marquez but ultimately finished first, marking his fifth victory of the season.
Marquez is now tied with Martin at the top of the standings with 274 points, but he leads on countback due to more race wins. The race saw Alex Marquez finish second and Pedro Acosta in third, while Martin dropped to fifth place. This race also marked a disappointing outcome for Aprilia, as none of their riders finished on the podium.
