Marc Marquez Comments on Jorge Martin's Injury Ahead of Malaysian GP
Marc Marquez has addressed the situation of Jorge Martin as he prepares to race in the Malaysian Grand Prix despite an injured arm. Martin, who suffered a broken radius in his right arm during a crash at Phillip Island, is participating in the MotoGP round in Sepang less than a week after his injury.
During practice, Martin managed to complete only three laps, finishing 20th and 1.8 seconds off the pace in the first session. Marquez, recalling his own experience from 2020 when he attempted a comeback after breaking his arm, emphasized that he cannot judge Martin's condition or the risks involved, as he is unaware of the specifics of Martin's injury.
Martin received medical clearance to compete after completing 12 laps in the morning session, but he struggled in the afternoon, adding only three more laps and finishing last in the field. He chose to skip media commitments to focus on his recovery as he heads into the qualifying and sprint, trailing Marquez by 10 points in the standings.
