Marc Marquez Discusses Retirement Plans and Future in MotoGP
Marc Marquez recently spoke about his future in MotoGP during an interview at Phillip Island, indicating a 70% likelihood of retiring when his Ducati contract ends in three years. He expressed that he would retire feeling free, regardless of future titles.
Marquez's perspective has shifted significantly since last year, when he confidently stated he would still be racing in three years. After winning the championship in 2025, he faced another injury that required surgery, leading to a lengthy recovery. This experience has altered his approach to racing and retirement.
Despite his injury setbacks, Marquez remains ambitious, having recovered 102 points in just seven races this season. He noted that winning the championship has brought him peace, allowing him to accept finishes that would have previously troubled him. He emphasized that his future decisions regarding retirement will not be influenced by the number of titles he wins from now on.
